The Jordanians!

Here is the Jordanian delegation, finally! This picture was taken yesterday, when everyone went to Lake Fake (a fake lake next to the camp site) to go swimming in the sunny weather. More pictures will come soon!

Food at camp

So, what are the kids eating at camp? What is the Norwegian food like? It is no secret that Norwegians eat more bread than any of the international campers thought possible, but is bread all we eat? Of course not!

We have put together a menu full of nutritious food, with vegetables and meat and fish and alternatives for the vegetarians. Morten, one of the staff members, is in charge of the kitchen. Here he is in action, slicing cheese:
We have been very lucky this time around, to have local CISVers volunteering in the kitchen for the full four weeks of camp! They are doing a tremendous job, waking up early every morning to prepare breakfast, and going to bed late at night after leaving the kitchen in a spotless condition.  Here is a picture from yesterday, when they prepared the first fish dinner so far:

We are happy to report that the children LOVED the meal: fish au gratin a la Sunny Hill!

Open Day

Our Open Day is Friday, July 13th, only one week from today! We have invited everyone from our chapter as well as the locals here in Sør-Odal, and the delegations will prepare a little show for them. Each delegation will also prepare a little stand where they get to present their country. We are super excited about it, and we will of course post pictures on the blog after the event!
