On Open Day, all the delegations dressed up in their costumes and prepared their stands in the dining hall. The visitors from our CISV chapter and the locals got to see a little bit from each country, and it was a great success!
Jordan had brought their flag and had brochures from their country on display. They also served traditional sweets:
baklava (بقلاوة)! Mmm... delicious!
The Italians were dressed as chefs in their very original CISV-chef suits! Don't they look smashing?
They served bread with the world famous Italian chocolate spread Nutella, and parmesan cheese with balsamic vinegar cream! Super tasty!
The Swedes were dressed in football jerseys, and had some sweets and crackers for everyone to try. Sweden, we love your Ahlgrens Bilar!
The French were dressed as super heroes, and they served some delicious toast with honey, yum!
The Mexicans had decorated their stand with beautiful sombreros, pictures and posters, and they handed out some really spicy candy - very interesting for the Norwegian palate indeed :)
Spain had lots of different things on display at their stand, and they served olives and some very tasty seeds as well.
Canada had the mandatory hockey stick on their table, and the kids handed out cinamon/chocolaty treats - delicious!
Norway had posters from the delegation's home town Bergen on display, and we got to taste some fine Norwegian milk chocolate - the best in the world! (Seriously!)
The Americans had matching t-shirts and they showed us how to make s'mores (without the bbq-part), and the locals loved it!
Brazil had the most colorful stand, and we got to try several different sweets at their table. Fabulous!
Germany had decorated their stand with their flag, and they of course served us gummy bears!
Yum, yum, we love gummy bears!
And last, but not least, Denmark. They had dressed up as the Queen and as soldiers from The Royal Life Guard - look at those serious faces! The Danes stayed in character the entire time, impressive!
