How to use a cheese slicer

We eat a lot of bread in Norway, and our international campers have to deal with sandwich making several times a day. Here are a couple of shots from earlier, where we had a little demonstration to show the delegates how to operate the mysterious tool (and Norwegian invention): the cheese slicer!

The cheese slicer is a Norwegian invention!

Name games

Right at this very moment, all the kids, leaders and JC's are outside in the warm summer weather playing name games. We need to learn everyones names, and it can be quite tricky to memorize them all when we are over sixty people here at camp.
The amazing JC's have planned all the activities for today, and the name games they have introduced have been very well received by all the kids. While writing this, we can hear laughter and happy voices outside our Staff Office window as all the delegates are playing around outside.
The weather today is cloudy but the temperature is pleasant. We can even spot a few sandals on some of the feet today!

By the end of today, we will hopefully know the names of most of the campers, and when we wake up tomorrow, all the faces we meet will be familiar. That's when the real fun will begin!

Arrival of the last delegation

Right now the kids are having cleaning time, but the big showers will not be cleaned today, as the Jordanian delegation are in the air as we speak, on the way to Sunny Hill River Village. We are really looking forward to their arrival, we can't wait to meet them!!

The kids are here!

The kids have finally arrived from the home stays, and it is beginning to feel like a real CISV camp around here! We, the staff, are proud to present the delegations of the Sunny Hill River Village!

More planning in the sun

Preparing the campsite

Here are the wonderfull Sunny Hill-leaders and JCs, touring the camp site in the sunny weather. We have spent the day today preparing the campsite for the arrival of the kids, creating signs for the different rooms and getting all the beds ready. The kids will arrive tomorrow evening, and we are so excited to meet them all!

Below is one of the signs we made today, the Grand Wheel of Cleaning, which we will use to organize the tidying of the different areas here at Sunny Hill:
